Birds of a feather: The exotic avian residents of Papua New Guinea are the subjects of Birds of Paradise, a coffee-table book from the National Geographic Society and the Lab of Ornithology. Published in October, it features dozens of images by frequent National Geographic photographer Tim Laman and text by Cornell ornithologist Edwin Scholes.
