From William C. Atkinson, BME ’50
Photo of my father Kerr Atkinson, Class of 1912, of the Cornell Aero Club at the controls of a glider on the athletic fields above Schoellkopf. The gliders, built by the Club members, were towed by automobile around the track at an altitude of fifty feet or so. Kerr is the son of George F. Atkinson, Class of 1885, head of the Cornell Botany department for many years.
