Skorton on Student Health

Last week, President David Skorton posted a new entry in his Huffington Post blog on the subject of student health and well-being. "Many institutions, including Cornell, have adopted a philosophy of freedom with responsibility," wrote Skorton, "giving students the freedom to choose their own actions but holding them responsible for the choices they make." But, he added, there are certain key areas "where I believe we in higher education need to step up our efforts." These include high-risk drinking, hazing, mental health promotion, and concussion prevention.
