Cornell continues its march to the Middle East. Two professors have been awarded $25 million by Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). The money will fund an institute called Cornell University’s KAUST Center for Research and Education, which will focus on the study of nanomaterials developed at Cornell.

Like other American universities, Cornell has been busily establishing outposts in countries with limited higher education opportunities. KAUST joins Weill Cornell Medical College-Qatar as Cornell’s forays into the Middle East.
