Karen Richards ’87 was an editor at Games magazine and has published puzzle books with Random House, Sterling Publishing, and Workman, among others. Currently a freelance reporter, writer, and artist, she works part time with KLCC, the Eugene, Oregon-based NPR station. Her favorite animal is the moose. |

An industrial engineering major on the Hill, Fred Piscop ’70 has been a full-time crossword constructor since 1995. He has published numerous crossword books as well as a guide to solving cryptics. He creates custom puzzles for private clients, is a longtime constructor for Newsday, and creates a weekly puzzle for In Touch. Currently the crossword editor at USA Today, he held similar roles at the Washington Post Magazine and Universal Uclick. He is a regular constructor at the New York Times, where he pens monthly “bonus” crosswords and Split Decisions puzzles. A former professional keyboardist, he still attends local jam sessions twice a week. |

Scott Miller, PhD ’98 is CTO and vice president of engineering at Kionix, Inc., an Ithaca-based global manufacturer of sensors, accelerometers, and gyroscopes. He holds a BS in physics from Purdue and a doctorate in applied and engineering physics from Cornell, and is a co-inventor on eleven U.S. patents. He lives in Cayuga Heights with his wife, CAM senior editor Beth Saulnier, and their greyhound. |
